The Lanre Sarumi For GSM PVC-Drive was a concept that is sponsored by Hon. Lanre Sarumi. Lanre Sarumi being a follower and a great supporter of the Governor of Oyo State, Governor Seyi Makinde was inspired to take the voter's registration to the door step of people.
The independent national electoral commission (INEC) initiative to have an online registration portal is a welcome development that has made registration easily accessible and open to all that is eligible to vote. Despitel this, awareness and a push needs to be created for all and sundry to be involved including non-educated individuals for an all-inclusive election which in turns leads to total emancipation of the people
In making the best of this opportunity created by INEC, Hon. Lanre Sarumi decided to create an opportunity for the people to have an easy access to get the registration done through an initiative tagged IBADAN NORTH PVC DRIVE.
The PVC-DRIVE was scheduled to different locations spread across the local government area. The first phase of the project which started on 3rd of September span through 14th of September 2021, covering Oke Sapati on 3rd September, Nalende on 4th, Oke Aremo on 5th, Idi Omo on 6th, Akingbola on 7th, Sabo on 8th, Oke Itunu on 9th, Ijokodo area on 10th, Mokola on 11th, Obasa on 12th, Samonda on 13th and Agbowo/UI on 14th September.
Throughout the exercise, it is highly inspiring seeing the kind of reception enjoyed by the host communities. It is also very clear that the love of our Governor Engr. Seyi Makinde is deeply rooted across the street, from both the elite, the political class and the everyday people across the State.
The political atmosphere of Oyo-state is experiencing a new-dawn, has intellectuals and people with true love of humanity are arising to take-up the Mantle, you can't help but breathe a fresh air looking forward to 2023 election. Meanwhile, it is very important to help our people in making the process of voter's registration easy ahead of the forthcoming general election, our experience in the past weeks has shown that our people wants to participate and show their love for his Excellency Engr Seyi Makinde, by voting en-masse to return him comes 2023, hence a need to help them make this easy by taking the process to their door step.
So far it has been a very successful exercise and we promise to do more and encourage others to join their efforts to this worthwhile exercise 🙏🏽
