DCP Akinade Adejobi was renowned for his exemplary service and leadership within the Nigerian Police Force. Notably, in 2020, he was appointed as the pioneer commander of the Police Mobile Force (PMF) Squadron 72 in Ago-Are, Oke-Ogun, Oyo State. This squadron was inaugurated by Governor Seyi Makinde as part of efforts to bolster security in the region. Prior to this role, DCP Adejobi made significant contributions as the officer in charge of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) at the Lagos State Police Command and later as Commander of the Special Anti-Kidnapping and Cultism Squad. His strategic leadership was instrumental in the high-profile apprehension of notorious kidnap kingpin Chukwudi Onuamadike, also known as Evans, in 2017.
The late DCP Adejobi was also the elder brother of the current Nigeria Police Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who is reportedly in deep mourning following this personal loss.
The passing of DCP Akinade Adejobi represents a significant loss to the Nigerian law enforcement community. His dedication, strategic acumen, and leadership have left an indelible mark on policing in Oyo State and beyond. The thoughts and prayers of colleagues, friends, and the community are with his family during this difficult time.
