Governor Ademola Adeleke has vowed to overcome political adversaries he likened to "Pharaohs," reaffirming his commitment to the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and urging members to remain steadfast ahead of the 2026 elections.
Speaking at a reception organized by the PDP in Osogbo upon his return from a brief vacation in the United States, where he attended his nephew Davido's wedding, Adeleke emphasized the progress his administration has made since 2022.
> "We have moved Osun from pity to confidence, from poverty to prosperity," Adeleke stated. "We shall defeat the Pharaohs against us and reclaim what is rightfully ours."
He also addressed rumors about his potential defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC), labeling them as "fake news" and affirming his loyalty to the PDP.
Adeleke called on party members to actively participate in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration to ensure the PDP's continued governance in Osun State.
The event was attended by key PDP figures, including State Chairman Sunday Bisi and Speaker of the State House of Assembly Adewale Egbedun, who both expressed confidence in the party's unity and electoral prospects.
As the 2026 elections approach, Adeleke's rallying cry serves as a call to action for PDP members to remain united and vigilant against opposition forces.
