The chairman of the organising committee for Davido 5ive Concert in Oyo State, Mr. Tony Awobode (widely known as Don Tee), has underscored the committee’s unwavering commitment to elevating home-grown talent from Ibadan and projecting them onto the global entertainment stage.
During a media briefing in Ibadan, Don Tee revealed that the committee has meticulously selected some of the state’s most outstanding young entertainers to perform at the concert. He noted that this initiative aligns perfectly with the Oyo State Government’s dedication to youth empowerment through creative arts.
He emphasised that this concert is more than just a performance platform: it will allow emerging artists to showcase depth, network, learn, and ultimately compete favourably on the international stage.
> “We are deliberate about discovering and nurturing the next generation of stars. The Davido 5ive Concert is more than an entertainment event — it’s a gateway for our local performers to gain global visibility,” he stated.
Don Tee also commended the Oyo State Government under the leadership of Seyi Makinde and stakeholders across the entertainment industry for their continuous support. He assured that the upcoming event — packed with top-tier performances and cultural showcases — is expected to attract massive attendance from within and beyond the state, boosting tourism and the local economy in the process.
