Yerima Applauds Gov. Makinde’s Bold 2026 Budget, Describes It as a Blueprint for Oyo’s Economic Prosperity

In a forward-thinking statement that further underscores his growing influence within Ona Ara and Oyo State politics, Hon. Oluwafemi Abolade Gabriel (Yerima) has hailed Governor Seyi Makinde’s newly unveiled 2026 Budget of Economic Expansion, valued at ₦891.9 billion, as a strategic move capable of stimulating massive economic growth across the state.

Speaking through his Media Office, Yerima emphasized that Governor Makinde’s proposal reflects “a rare blend of visionary leadership, strategic planning, and unwavering commitment to a prosperous Oyo State.” He noted that in a period where many states are struggling to maintain economic stability, Oyo continues to shine as a model of innovation, reform, and people-centered policy direction.

Yerima, a fast-rising political voice in Ona Ara and a strong prospective candidate for the Oyo State House of Assembly, described the budget as timely, ambitious, and refreshingly aligned with the needs of ordinary citizens. He stressed that the governor’s focus on infrastructure, education, healthcare, agribusiness, security, and youth empowerment mirrors the collective aspirations of Oyo people—especially the grassroots communities who desire real, measurable progress.

According to him, the 2026 budget captures what every forward-thinking leader should prioritize:

Inclusive development

Economic diversification

Enhanced social welfare

Sustainable job creation

Youth-driven innovation

Yerima further highlighted that local governments, including Ona Ara, have consistently benefitted from the governor’s inclusive governance style. He expressed confidence that this new fiscal direction will open fresh opportunities for small businesses, improve community infrastructure, and accelerate growth across both rural and urban areas.

Describing the budget as “another masterstroke from a governor who understands where Oyo is today—and where it must be tomorrow,” Yerima reaffirmed his belief that the coming year will witness transformative, people-focused outcomes.

He concluded with optimism, stating that the budget provides a solid foundation for improved livelihoods across Ona Ara and the entire state, reinforcing Governor Makinde’s legacy of effective leadership—while inspiring leaders like himself to continue championing development-focused governance.
