The Executive Chairman of Akinyele Local Government, Hon. Akinwole Akinleye, has reaffirmed his commitment to inclusiveness, party unity, and grassroots development, assuring members of the Senator Monsurat Sunmonu (SMS) Group in Akinyele Local Government that no stakeholder would be left behind in the collective quest to secure victory for all Allied Peoples Movement (APM) candidates in the 2027 general elections.
The assurance was given during a strategic meeting between the leadership and members of the SMS Group, led by its Chairman, Hon. Yekini (YK), where discussions were made in practical steps towards strengthening the party's structure and ensuring electoral success across the local government.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Hon. Asimiyu Abiodun (Apostle) appreciated Hon. Akinwole Akinleye for creating time out of his busy schedule to meet the group, describing the gesture as evidence that his administration remains open, accommodating, and all inclusive. He noted that the meeting further demonstrated the Executive Chairman's readiness to engage all relevant stakeholders in building a formidable platform for the party ahead of the 2027 elections.
In their separate remarks, Hon. Bolanle Hamzat and Hon. Fakunle Abosede described the Executive Chairman as a respected member of the Senator Monsurat Sunmonu Political Dynasty, urging him to continue treating the SMS Group as an integral part of his political family. While commending his achievements in office, they appealed for greater inclusion of the group's members in government opportunities and empowerment initiatives, stressing that such consideration would further motivate them to actively promote the administration's accomplishments and the party's agenda.
Also lending their voices, the Supervisory Councillor for Mines and Energy in Akinyele Local Government, Hon. Abass Akinpelu Alabede, who is a member of the group, acknowledged the efforts of the Executive Chairman, particularly during the recent party congress, where members of the SMS Group were adequately involved in the selection of party executives.
Similarly, Hon. Oluseyi Samson, a former Special Assistant in Akinyele Local Government and a member of the group, commended the Chairman for ensuring that the dividends of democracy continue to reach different segments of the local government. He however explained that the essence of the meeting was to further advocate for members of the group so they could enjoy greater participation and benefits while contributing more effectively to the growth and success of the administration and the party.
In his response, The Executive Chairman of Akinyele Local Government, Hon. Akinwole Akinleye thanked the delegation for openly expressing their concerns and aspirations, describing Distinguished Senator Monsurat Sunmonu as a selfless leader, a strong pillar in Oyo State politics, and a key supporter of the administration of the People's Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde. He prayed for greater success and continued accomplishments for the former Senator, whom he described as a leader who genuinely loves and prioritizes the welfare of her people.
The Executive Chairman noted that since the inception of his administration, no delegation had formally approached him in the name of Team SMS, but emphasized that this had never stopped him from supporting members of the group because he also belongs to the Senator Monsurat Sunmonu Political Dynasty.
He disclosed that strategic consultations and meetings have already commenced across the three geopolitical zones of the local government, citing recent engagements involving Wards 3 and 8 in Akinyele South LCDA, while similar meetings for Akinyele Central and Akinyele East LCDA would soon follow.
"My leadership door remains open to everyone. No one can do it alone, and I assure you that your agitations will be addressed immediately. We will leave no one behind. Every group, ward, and stakeholder will be carried along as we work tirelessly to secure victory for all APM candidates in 2027. With the support of party leaders, the goodwill of my principal, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde, and the strategic efforts already in place, APM will emerge victorious," he stated.
In demonstration of his commitment to the group, the Executive Chairman also provided financial support to members and directed them to come for food materials for the group during the week.
In appreciation, members of the SMS Group offered prayers for the continued success of the Executive Chairman, the APM and it's candidates, and his administration, describing his leadership as a divine blessing to Akinyele Local Government. They equally reaffirmed their unwavering loyalty and pledged to work harmoniously with the party leadership to ensure the victory of all APM candidates in the forthcoming general elections.
