"My Household Has More Christians Than Muslims, Yet We Live in Peace" — Asiwaju Musulumi Dr. Khamis Olatunde-Badmus Calls for National Unity

Dr. Khamis Olatunde-Badmus, the Asiwaju Musulumi of Yorubaland, including Edo and Delta States, has consistently championed the cause of religious harmony and national unity in Nigeria. In his recent Eid-el-Kabir message, he emphasized the importance of peaceful coexistence among Nigerians, regardless of religious affiliations.

Highlighting his personal experience, Dr. Olatunde-Badmus noted that his household comprises more Christians than Muslims, yet they live together in peace and mutual respect. This, he believes, should serve as a model for the broader Nigerian society.

He urged religious leaders to refrain from disseminating messages of hatred, especially through social media platforms, and instead promote teachings that foster unity and understanding. "It is high time all Nigerians, the government, and all stakeholders came together to address the issue of people being killed through banditry, kidnapping, ritualism, and other wicked activities," he stated. Dr. Olatunde-Badmus also called on the youth to channel their energies into productive ventures such as agriculture, mining, technology, and commerce, cautioning against engaging in rituals, shortcuts, and fraud in the quest for wealth. [2]

He expressed optimism about Nigeria's future, asserting that with commitment, dedication, diligence, and prayers from both leaders and citizens, the nation will overcome its challenges and achieve greatness once again.

In his role as Asiwaju Musulumi, Dr. Olatunde-Badmus continues to advocate for policies that reduce inflation, curb insecurity, and provide employment opportunities, emphasizing that such measures are crucial for national development and cohesion.
