Taye Currency Used Me for 20 Years and Gave Nothing Back’ — Fuji Star Opeyemi Arole Explodes in Shocking Betrayal Claim

Betrayal in Fuji Music: Opeyemi Arole Exposes Taye Currency, Renounces Former Mentor in Explosive Interview

In a bombshell interview that has rocked the Fuji music industry, fast-rising Ibadan-based Fuji musician Opeyemi Arole—formerly known as *Arole Currency*—has broken his silence on years of alleged mistreatment by his longtime mentor and former boss, Taye Currency.
Speaking candidly during a televised program, Arole disclosed that despite a relationship spanning over two decades, he never received support, encouragement, or financial assistance from Taye Currency, whom he described as "greedy, self-centered, and manipulative."

Arole cited several personal instances to back his claims. One notable episode was his pilgrimage to Mecca in 2019, which he said he had to entirely fund himself despite expectations that his then-boss would assist. He also recalled purchasing a car and approaching Taye Currency for help with vehicle registration, only to be ignored. The matter was eventually resolved with the help of a fan.

"People think we are close, but I suffered in silence," Arole stated. "He blocked my progress, and I now realize I was on my own all along."

Declaring a new chapter in his career, Arole has dropped the name “Currency” from his stage name, now going by *Opeyemi Arole Federal*, signaling a total departure from his association with Taye Currency.

Adding weight to Arole’s claims, another Fuji artist, Agbaletu, also came forward in a separate interview, corroborating the allegations of exploitation and lack of mentorship from Taye Currency.

This unfolding controversy is stirring widespread conversation in the Nigerian music community, especially within the Fuji genre, where mentorship and patronage are deeply ingrained in the culture. Fans and observers await an official response from Taye Currency as the matter continues to generate buzz on social media.

This feud highlights deeper tensions in the industry regarding artist development, loyalty, and the challenges young musicians face in breaking through a system often dominated by older, more influential figures.
