Hon. Oluwafemi Abolade Gabriel, popularly known as Hon. Yerima, a rising force in Oyo State politics and a sure upcoming candidate for the Ona Ara State Constituency seat, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle (Don) on his resounding victory in the recently concluded Ibadan North Federal Constituency by-election.
Hon. Yerima, who was actively present on the field throughout the election, commended the resilience of PDP leaders and members across Ibadan. He noted that the victory is not just a triumph for Hon. Oyekunle, but also a reaffirmation of the people’s confidence in the PDP as the party of genuine grassroots development.
> “I heartily congratulate my brother, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle (Don), on his well-deserved victory at the polls. His return to legislative service is a clear testimony that the people recognize competence, capacity, and consistency in leadership. This victory is indeed for the people, for democracy, and for the PDP family,” Yerima stated.
Actively mobilizing at the grassroots level, Hon. Yerima toured several wards during the election alongside house leaders from 11 local governments across Ibadan, ensuring full compliance with electoral guidelines and peaceful conduct of the polls. He was also on ground in Ibadan North until the official declaration of Hon. Oyekunle as the winner.
Acknowledging the strategic leadership within the party, Hon. Yerima paid glowing tributes to Governor Seyi Makinde and his political mentor, Otunba Seye Famojuro, for their tireless efforts in consolidating the PDP’s dominance in Oyo State.
> “I appreciate the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, and my boss, Otunba Seye Famojuro, for setting the pace in building a united and formidable PDP in Oyo State. A united party is always an unstoppable force, and the results in Ibadan North have once again proved this,” Yerima affirmed.
From his political base in Ward 9, Ona Ara Local Government Area, Hon. Yerima has steadily positioned himself as a dependable voice of the grassroots, championing the aspirations of his people. His presence and active involvement in the by-election further solidify his image as a committed party man and a rising leader to watch out for ahead of the 2027 Oyo State House of Assembly elections.
