Cardi B’s $80M Divorce Nightmare: Offset Won’t Let Go Until She Pays His Taxes and Buys His Lifestyle

Cardi B Alleges Offset Is Deliberately Sabotaging Their Divorce – Accuses Him of Turning Her Into His ATM

Cardi B recently ignited a firestorm of public reaction after claiming that her estranged husband, Offset, is intentionally dragging out their divorce to exploit her wealth. In a dramatic confession during a livestream session, the Grammy-winning artist accused Offset of refusing to sign the divorce papers unless she agrees to financially support him—by paying his taxes, handing over property, and subsidizing his current lifestyle.

“He’s Playing Me” — Cardi B Lashes Out

In her candid remarks, Cardi said:

> “Offset is playing me like a game. He’s refusing to finalize our divorce so the amount of money and properties I have to give him keeps rising... I’m covering his taxes, funding the lifestyle he’s living right now. Until he officially divorces me and claims half of my money and assets, I have to support him.”

She added that she’s still contractually bound to the marriage because Offset is “holding her hostage,” demanding financial concessions before agreeing to the split: “He wants me to keep paying his taxes, handing him millions, and giving him one of my properties.”

The Financial Tussle Behind the Headlines

Cardi claims she’s already endured years of emotional strain and financial obligations. In her words, Offset’s tactics appear less about equitable resolution and more about profiteering from her success. She maintains that she shouldn’t be compelled to underwrite his expenses indefinitely just to be released from a marriage that ended.

Meanwhile, the legal manuevering behind the scenes is intensifying. Offset reportedly filed an amended response in their divorce proceedings requesting spousal support from Cardi—an unusual twist, given her public complaints about his monetary demands.

Divorce Still Unsettled After Years of Dispute

Though Cardi initially filed for divorce in 2024, the process has stalled. She’s made it clear that the delay is entirely financial. “The only reason why I'm still married is because somebody wants me to pay for their taxes,” she said during the livestream.

Cardi has emphasized that the two are “legally separated” but not yet divorced, stressing that Offset's ongoing resistance is motivated by financial self-interest—not love, not reconciliation—just profit.

She further described the relationship as “not peaceful,” confirming in an appearance on The Breakfast Club that conflict and friction dominate their current dynamic.

New Beginnings, New Battle Lines

Amid the drama, Cardi has also revealed personal updates: she is pregnant with her fourth child—her first with NFL player Stefon Diggs. In her podcast interview, she reflected on the ups and downs of her marriage to Offset, admitting that though it was tumultuous, she doesn’t view the experience as a total waste.

On the business side, her forthcoming album Am I the Drama? drops September 19, 2025, and is already being framed as a deeply personal narrative—part catharsis, part confrontation.
