A Proud Salute at 65: MESC Event & Security Consultant Celebrates Nigeria’s Milestone — And Invites You to Join Our Journey

As Nigeria marks its 65th year of independence, MESC Event & Security Consultant extends heartfelt felicitations to all families, friends, and fans across the nation. We join in this momentous celebration of freedom, resilience, and national identity — and we usher in this new month with renewed hope, unity, and purpose.

🇳🇬 Nigeria @ 65: Reflections, Challenges & Hope

On October 1, 1960, Nigeria emerged from colonial rule into self-determination. Over six and a half decades later, the country stands at a crossroads — celebrating its achievements, acknowledging persistent challenges, and recommitting to the dreams of its founders.

Presidential Broadcast and Parade Cancellation

As part of the official commemoration, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is scheduled to deliver a nationwide address on October 1, 2025, at 7:00 a.m. (local time). All media outlets have been directed to tune in via the National Television Authority (NTA) and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN).

However, in an unexpected turn, the federal government has cancelled the independence day parade, a symbolic fixture of Nigeria’s celebrations. While the parade will no longer take place, the government affirmed that all other planned events will proceed as scheduled.

Voices from Across Nigeria

The Northern Nigeria Minorities Group (NNMG) has urged Nigerians to renew their faith in the “Nigeria Project”, transcending ethnic, religious, and political divisions.

In the South-East, Ohanaeze Ndigbo called for sober reflection rather than mere pageantry, spotlighting concerns of equity, justice, and inclusion in nation-building.

Politically, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, emphasized that Nigeria remains on a “right path” despite the turbulence and challenges ahead.

These voices reflect a common thread: national pride tempered by conscientious urgency — the recognition that celebrating 65 years must be accompanied by commitment to progress.
