“THE WARDS HAVE SPOKEN!” — Grassroots Political Earthquake as Oyo Youths, Women, and Ward Leaders Mobilize for Hon. Tosin Alabi’s House of Reps Ambition

In what can best be described as a decisive moment in Oyo State’s evolving political landscape, ward leaders, youth development stakeholders, women leaders, and grassroots mobilizers converged in a strategic meeting that unmistakably signaled the rising political momentum behind Hon. Tosin Alabi’s aspiration for the Federal House of Representatives.

The meeting, which reflected deep-rooted grassroots coordination and political clarity, was formally called to order by Mrs. Temitayo Afolabi of Ward 9, with procedural support from Mrs. Ronke Akintunde of Ward 11. The session commenced with an opening prayer led by Oritayo, setting the tone for a gathering centered on unity, purpose, and political direction.

Proceedings advanced with the reading of minutes from the previous meeting by Yemisi of Ward 9, reaffirming continuity and accountability in the movement’s internal organization. During reflections on prior engagements, Hon. Yerima referenced the impactful contributions previously made by Mrs. Iyabo Tajudeen Laba of Ward 9, while Mrs. Busari of Ward 7 further reinforced the inclusive nature of the dialogue through her intervention.

A CLEAR POLITICAL DIRECTION

As deliberations progressed, the political intent of the meeting became unmistakable. Hon. Yerima, in his closing remarks, offered prayers and expressed firm confidence that all stakeholders present would ultimately reap the rewards of their collective labor through alignment with Hon. Tosin Alabi’s political journey.

More significantly, the Personal Assistant to Hon. Tosin Alabi made a bold and confidence-laden declaration:

> “By the grace of God, Hon. Tosin Alabi will secure the party ticket for the House of Representatives, and this goal demands collective commitment, discipline, and grassroots loyalty.”

This statement was met with widespread affirmation, further solidifying the meeting as not just administrative, but decisively political.

YOUTH DEVELOPMENT, PARTNERSHIP & STRUCTURED MOBILIZATION

The gathering also doubled as a Youth Development and Strategic Partnership forum, under the umbrella of the Youth Development Organization of Oyo. Participants were informed of Hon. Tosin Alabi’s readiness to work with youth bodies, civil structures, and ward-level organizations, emphasizing inclusiveness and shared ownership of progress.

Hon. Femi, P.A. to Hon. Tosin Alabi, formally welcomed attendees and requested that three representatives from each ward remain behind for operational briefings—underscoring the seriousness of ward-by-ward political structuring. This was complemented by a guided visit and orientation session.

Adding emotional weight to the discussions, Mr. Adeoba spoke passionately about Hon. Tosin Alabi’s longstanding love for the people, urging members to stay politically informed by tuning into an upcoming community and political radio program scheduled for Saturday.

VOICES FROM WOMEN & FAITH

In a powerful show of inclusive leadership, Hon. Tosin Alabi himself, alongside Mrs. Bola Oyelami, Women Leader of Ward 6, addressed the gathering. They charged members to act as disciplined ambassadors across all wards, assuring them that dedication, loyalty, and prayerful engagement would not go unrewarded.

Special prayers were also offered for Iyefun Arewa, reinforcing the spiritual and communal undertone of the movement.

EVENT PLANNING, IDENTITY & WARD STRENGTH

Attention then shifted to logistics and symbolism ahead of the February 7th celebration, where supporters will proudly don coordinated “Anko” (uniform fabrics)—a visual statement of unity and political identity. Members were urged to arrive early, with assurances that tailoring details and color specifications would be communicated immediately after fabric procurement.

It was further emphasized that meetings are actively ongoing across all wards, with each ward mandated to submit reports. Leaders reminded participants that Hon. Tosin Alabi is a son of Ona-Ara and a descendant of Egbeda Local Government, urging stakeholders to focus on progress rather than past grievances.

Immediately following the local government meeting, Hon. Tosin Alabi’s anniversary celebration will commence—a move unanimously endorsed by attendees and leadership alike.

WARD ATTENDANCE BREAKDOWN (AS PRESENTED BY HON. YERIMA):

Ward 2: 13

Ward 4: 10

Ward 5: 13

Ward 6: 27

Ward 8: 10

These figures further underline Ward 9’s dominance and the growing numerical strength of the movement across Ona-Ara and adjoining communities.

THE BIG PICTURE

This meeting was not merely a gathering—it was a strategic political signal. From youth development to women mobilization, from ward statistics to uniform symbolism, the message was clear: Hon. Tosin Alabi’s House of Representatives ambition is transitioning from intention to structured grassroots execution.

As Oyo State’s political climate continues to evolve, one fact is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore—the wards are organizing, the base is mobilizing, and Hon. Tosin Alabi’s name is steadily gaining the kind of grassroots traction that elections are built on.
