“Tosin De Ere De!” — A New Dawn for Egbeda/Ona Ara: How a Young, Compassionate Leader Is Winning Hearts Before the Ticket Is Won

History was quietly but powerfully made today as foundational members of the Hon. Tosin Alabi Campaign Project officially met to declare, not just a political ambition, but a collective resolve to birth a new kind of representation for Egbeda/Ona Ara Constituency under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
This landmark meeting, held on January 9, 2026, at Base 2 Hotel, Aba Iya Alaje, was more than a routine political gathering. It was a statement of intent, a call to conscience, and a reawakening of hope for party faithfuls, stakeholders, authorities, and the people at large.
A Movement Begins: Not Just Politics, But Purpose

The meeting commenced at about 1:30pm, opening with prayers led by committed party faithfuls including Mrs. Owolabi Olaide (Ward 5, Egbeda LGA), Mrs. Obalola Owoleke (Ward 5), and Mr. Adefisayo Adewale (Ward 10)—symbolizing unity, spiritual grounding, and collective responsibility.

The Coordinator of the Tosin Alabi Campaign Project, Mr. Azeez Folorunsho (Ward 10), clearly outlined the aim of the meeting:

> To formally unveil Hon. Tosin Alabi’s intentions, mobilize the grassroots, and ensure that this project remains people-driven, ward-based, and purpose-focused.

Supporters and stakeholders were present from virtually all wards in Egbeda Local Government, confirming that this ambition is already enjoying organic grassroots acceptance.

Hon. Yerima: The Backbone, the Bridge, the Builder

A major highlight of the meeting was the arrival of Honourable Yerima at about 1:45pm, whose presence immediately energized the room. More than just a campaign coordinator, Hon. Yerima emerged as the moral and strategic backbone of the Tosin Alabi Project.

Addressing members across wards, Hon. Yerima did not speak in promises alone—he spoke from record, experience, and proven impact.

> “I say this categorically,” he declared,
“I have personally assisted 72 people into state employment through SUBEB and TESCOM, and with Hon. Tosin Alabi, I will continue to ensure that our people get their fair share—not by favoritism, but by justice.”

This statement resonated deeply, especially in a constituency long bruised by political sacrifices that yielded little or nothing in return.

Learning from the Past, Choosing the Future

Speakers repeatedly referenced the painful political journey of the constituency—from Accord Party to APC and PDP—where supporters invested sweat, blood, and loyalty, only to be abandoned after victories.

> “Honourable Akin Alabi won and is now in his second term,” a member noted,
“but what did the grassroots gain from our sacrifice?”

This honest reflection set the tone for why Tosin Alabi must be different—and why he already is.

Tosin Alabi Speaks: Youth, Empathy, and a Human Face of Leadership

Though unavoidably absent physically, Hon. Tosin Alabi addressed the meeting via a phone call coordinated by Hon. Yerima. His message was simple, sincere, and powerful—earning admiration across wards.

Tosin Alabi is young, accessible, and deeply connected to the realities of the people. His philosophy is not elitist politics, but human-centered leadership—a leadership that feels hunger, understands unemployment, respects women, empowers youth, and honours elders.

This is why the slogan “Tosin De Ere De” (Tosin is Our Own) is fast becoming more than a chant—it is becoming an identity.

Real Issues, Real Conversations, Real Solutions

The meeting was refreshingly interactive. Members asked hard questions—not out of doubt, but out of responsibility.

Makunbi Olaposi (Ward 3) asked whether committing time and energy would truly translate to impact.

Edward Babatola (Ward 10) demanded clarity on the tangible benefits of support.

Olatunde Azeez (Ward 6) emphasized that leadership is not always about cash, but consistent support in kind.

Women leaders passionately stressed that women’s rights must never be sidelined, as they bear the burden of families, children, and ageing parents.

Each concern reinforced one truth: Egbeda/Ona Ara is ready for accountable leadership.

Clear Vision: From Solar Lights to Social Justice

In response, Hon. Yerima outlined practical, people-focused plans already being championed by Hon. Tosin Alabi, including:

Installation of solar-powered street lights in every ward, improving security and night-time economic activity

Job opportunities for children of loyal party members, particularly to support ageing parents

Strong advocacy for women inclusion, youth empowerment, and fair access to government opportunities

These are not abstract promises—they are policy directions grounded in lived experience.

The March Forward: Grassroots First

Before the close of the meeting, Hon. Yerima issued a clear directive:

> Ward-level meetings must commence immediately to project Hon. Tosin Alabi as a credible, viable, and reputable political brand across Egbeda/Ona Ara.

This campaign will not be built from Abuja or Ibadan offices alone—it will be built from the wards, the streets, the markets, and the homes of the people.

Conclusion: Why Tosin Alabi Is the Man for the Ticket

Hon. Tosin Alabi represents a rare convergence of youth, empathy, competence, and loyalty to the grassroots. He is not disconnected from the people’s pain, nor intoxicated by political privilege. With the strategic leadership of Hon. Yerima, the energy of foundational stakeholders, and the trust of party faithfuls, this project is fast becoming a movement.

Egbeda/Ona Ara does not just need another politician.
It needs a human face, a listening ear, and a leader who remembers the road even after reaching the top.

That leader is Hon. Tosin Alabi.

Tosin De Ere De.
The time is now.
The people are ready.
