Hon. Oluwatobi John Ogunbayo (OJO), an aspirant for the House of Representatives representing Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency, has urged Nigerians—particularly residents of his constituency—to embrace the enduring values of love, unity, and sacrifice as Christians across the world celebrate Easter.
In his Easter message, OJO described the season as a powerful reminder of hope, renewal, and selfless service, emphasizing that the essence of Easter goes far beyond celebration—it is a call to purposeful living and collective responsibility.
According to him, the resurrection of Jesus Christ symbolizes triumph over adversity, a message he believes is deeply relevant to the current realities facing Nigeria and the people of Ibadan.
> “Easter reminds us that no matter the trials we face as individuals and as a nation, there is always hope for victory and renewal. It is a season to rededicate ourselves to service, compassion, and unwavering faith in a better tomorrow,” OJO stated.
Positioning himself as a forward-thinking leader and a voice for the people, OJO called on citizens to reflect on the deeper meaning of the season and actively contribute to societal growth and development.
He stressed that Nigeria is at a critical point where unity and shared sacrifice are urgently needed to overcome prevailing socio-economic challenges.
> “Our nation is in dire need of healing—economically, socially, and even morally. This is the time for all of us to rise above division and commit, in our own capacities, to building stronger, safer, and more prosperous communities,” he added.
OJO further emphasized the importance of peace, tolerance, and inclusiveness, urging Nigerians to look beyond ethnic and religious differences and work together for the common good.
Describing Easter as a “season of transformation,” he encouraged residents of Ibadan North-West and Ibadan South-West to channel the spirit of the celebration into tangible actions that uplift their communities.
> “Let this season awaken in us a renewed passion to love without limits, to give without hesitation, and to build with purpose. Together, we can create a constituency and a nation we are all proud of,” he concluded.
