Easter Reflection: Yerima Charges Ona Ara on Faith, Unity, and Collective Responsibility

As Christians across the globe commemorate Easter, Hon. Oluwafemi Abolade (Yerima), Leader of the Ona Ara Local Government Councillors and a fast-rising contender for the State House of Assembly, has delivered a stirring message calling for renewed faith, unity, and shared sacrifice among Nigerians—especially the people of Ona Ara.

In a message that blends inspiration with leadership intent, Yerima described Easter as more than a religious observance, but a defining moment that calls for deep reflection and a recommitment to building a better society.

According to him, the significance of the resurrection of Jesus Christ lies in its powerful message of resilience, hope, and victory—values he believes are urgently needed in today’s Nigeria.

“Easter teaches us that even in the darkest moments, light will always prevail. It challenges us to rise above fear, division, and hardship, and to embrace hope as a driving force for change,” he said.

Yerima used the occasion to spotlight the pressing need for unity and people-centered development, stressing that real progress begins when citizens take responsibility for the growth of their communities.

He noted that Ona Ara, like many parts of the country, stands at a crucial turning point that requires visionary thinking, cooperation, and sacrifice from all stakeholders.

“We cannot afford to remain divided or indifferent. The future we desire demands commitment, sacrifice, and a shared vision. Every individual has a role to play in shaping a more secure and prosperous society,” Yerima added.

Emphasizing inclusiveness, he urged residents to look beyond ethnic, political, and religious differences, and instead embrace a common identity built on peace, compassion, and mutual respect.

Describing Easter as a season of rebirth and fresh beginnings, Yerima encouraged young people in particular to seize the moment to redefine their contributions to society and become active participants in nation-building.

“This is a time to rebuild, reconnect, and reimagine our future. Let the spirit of Easter inspire us to act with purpose, lead with integrity, and serve with sincerity,” he concluded.

Hon. Oluwafemi Abolade Gabriel (Yerima) continues to gain recognition for his grassroots leadership style, strong engagement with youths, and unwavering commitment to the development of Ona Ara Local Government—qualities that position him as a formidable voice in the journey toward impactful representation at the state level.
