Fresh fears over insecurity in Nigeria’s North-Central region have emerged following the abduction of a pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), his wife, and at least one other individual by suspected kidnappers in Kogi State.
The incident occurred in Odo-Eri, a community within Yagba West Local Government Area, where armed men reportedly launched a late-night attack, throwing residents into panic and forcing many to flee their homes.
According to multiple reports, the abduction took place on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, when gunmen invaded the area and carried out the operation with little resistance.
Eyewitness accounts indicate that the attackers stormed the community under the cover of darkness, firing sporadically to create chaos before whisking away their victims. In addition to the RCCG pastor and his wife, other residents—including clergy members and their families—were reportedly taken during the raid, although the exact number of victims remains unclear.
