It was a moment of pride, spiritual reflection, and celebration as the Itifaq-Soliheen Islamic Dawah Society commemorated its 5th anniversary with a remarkable turbaning and award presentation ceremony that brought together respected Islamic scholars, community leaders, and devoted members.
The well-attended event, held in an atmosphere filled with gratitude and unity, featured the conferment of prestigious religious titles on distinguished individuals who have demonstrated unwavering commitment to Islamic service and community development.
Leading the ceremony was the Chief Imam of Owogunle Central Mosque, Olomore, Abeokuta, Imam Adebayo Morufu Akanji, who played a central role in the turbaning rites. In recognition of his leadership and contributions, he was also honoured with the revered title of Asiwaju Adeen of Itifaq-Soliheen Islamic Foundation.
In his remarks, Imam Akanji described the honour as both humbling and significant, urging members of the society to remain steadfast in love, unity, and collective purpose. He commended the organisation for its growth over the past five years and appreciated members for finding him worthy of such recognition.
A major highlight of the ceremony was the turbaning of Fadilat Sheikh, Comrade Ismaheel Olayinka Ojo (Alpha Nla), Chief Executive Officer of Alpha Nla Islamic Foundation, who was conferred with the title of Baba Egbe of Itifaq-Soliheen Islamic Foundation. His elevation was met with resounding applause, reflecting his influence and dedication to Islamic outreach.
Also honoured at the event was Fadilat Sheikh Alhaji Abd-Wasii Oluomo Danloma, Chief Imam of Olorunwa Central Mosque, Kinito, who was turbanned as Baba Laje Adeen of Itifaq-Soliheen. In his address, he emphasized the importance of love, mutual support, and forward-thinking among members. He encouraged the society to always consider the long-term impact of their actions while fostering unity within the group.
Furthermore, Fadilat Sheikh Alhaji Ismaheel Abdul Kareem Opeyemi was turbanned as an Adviser to the Itifaq-Soliheen Islamic Foundation, reinforcing the society’s leadership structure with experienced guidance.
Speaking on behalf of the honourees, Baba Egbe, Alpha Nla, expressed heartfelt appreciation to all attendees who contributed their time, resources, and presence to make the occasion a success. He extended prayers for continued blessings, growth, and unity among members and supporters of the foundation.
