The Executive Chairman of Akinyele Local Government, Hon Akinwole Akinleye, has extended warm felicitations to Muslim faithfuls across Akinyele Local Government and beyond on the occasion of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration, urging citizens to continue offering prayers for peace, unity and sustainable development in the society. The Executive Chairman also called on residents to remain security conscious during and after the festive season, stressing the importance of collective vigilance in safeguarding lives and properties.
In a statement made available to the public through his Chief Media Aide, Ogundipe Miracle, Hon. Akinleye congratulated All Muslim Ummah for witnessing another edition of the sacred festival widely known as the Festival of Sacrifice. He described Eid-el-Kabir as a significant period that teaches obedience, humility, selflessness and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah, virtues he said are greatly needed in nation building and peaceful coexistence.
The Executive Chairman prayed that Almighty Allah would preserve the lives of all Muslim faithfuls to witness many more celebrations in good health, happiness and abiding wealth. He further encouraged residents of Akinyele Local Government to embrace the spirit of love, generosity and tolerance which the season symbolizes, noting that the celebration should serve as a reminder of the need to continually support one another irrespective of religious or political affiliations.
Hon. Akinleye also emphasized the need for increased prayers for Nigeria, Oyo State and Akinyele Local Government at large, especially at a time when the nation is facing socio-economic and security challenges. According to him, sincere prayers combined with responsible conduct from citizens would go a long way in promoting peace, stability and progress across communities. He urged religious leaders to continue preaching messages of unity, moral discipline and patriotism among the people.
While wishing all Muslim faithfuls a peaceful and joyous Eid-el-Kabir celebration, the Executive Chairman reassured residents of his administration’s commitment to sustaining people oriented policies and developmental initiatives across the local government. He appealed to everyone celebrating the festival to remain law abiding, security conscious and moderate in all activities, while also extending love and support to the less privileged in the spirit of the season.
