As Muslims across Nigeria and the world prepare to celebrate the sacred festival of Eid-el-Kabir, the Leader of Ona Ara Local Government Councillors and frontline State House of Assembly hopeful, Hon. Oluwafemi Abolade Gabriel popularly known as Yerima, has extended heartfelt felicitations to the Muslim Ummah in Ona Ara Local Government and Oyo State at large, urging residents to embrace the virtues of sacrifice, peace, unity and love which define the season.
In a goodwill message released to commemorate the 2026 Eid-el-Kabir celebration, Hon. Yerima described the festival as a spiritually significant occasion that reminds humanity of the importance of obedience to God, selflessness, compassion for humanity and unwavering commitment to community development.
According to him, Eid-el-Kabir goes beyond the ceremonial slaughtering of animals, stressing that the deeper message of the celebration lies in sacrifice for the greater good, tolerance among citizens and dedication to building a more united and progressive society.
The respected grassroots political leader noted that the people of Ona Ara have consistently demonstrated resilience, strength and communal harmony despite prevailing socio-economic challenges across the nation. He therefore encouraged residents to continue supporting one another, especially the less privileged, while promoting peaceful coexistence irrespective of religious or political differences.
Hon. Yerima further called on Muslim faithfuls to use the period to offer special prayers for Nigeria, Oyo State and Ona Ara Local Government, particularly for peace, economic stability, improved security and sustainable development. He emphasized that collective prayers alongside responsible leadership and active citizenship remain essential ingredients for societal growth.
Speaking on security consciousness during the festive season, the councillors’ leader appealed to residents to remain vigilant and law abiding, while cooperating with security agencies and community leaders to ensure a peaceful celebration across all communities in Ona Ara Local Government.
He stated that unity among the people remains the strongest foundation for meaningful development, adding that leaders at all levels must continue prioritizing the welfare, aspirations and hopes of the grassroots.
Hon. Yerima also reaffirmed his commitment to people-oriented leadership, youth inclusion, community empowerment and sustainable representation, noting that his political vision for Ona Ara is centered on effective legislation, grassroots development and improved opportunities for the people.
The Ona Ara political figure, whose growing popularity continues to gain attention across the local government, expressed appreciation to community stakeholders, religious leaders, youths and women groups for their continued support and prayers, assuring them of his dedication to the collective progress of Ona Ara.
