Hon. Oluwatobi John Ogunbayo (OJO) Extends Warm Congratulations to Hon. Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe on His Nomination as Minister of Power

In a moment that underscores the growing recognition of competence, capacity, and proven leadership within Nigeria’s evolving political landscape, Hon. Oluwatobi John Ogunbayo (OJO), aspirant for the House of Representatives representing Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency, has extended heartfelt congratulations to Hon. (Chief) Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe on his distinguished nomination as the Honourable Minister of Power by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Describing the nomination as both “well-deserved and strategically significant,” Hon. OJO noted that Tegbe’s elevation is a clear testament to years of professional excellence, administrative depth, and a track record of service that aligns with the demands of a critical national sector such as power generation, transmission, and distribution.

According to him, the power sector remains the backbone of any meaningful economic transformation, and Nigeria’s journey toward industrial growth, SME expansion, and job creation is directly tied to reforms in that space. He expressed confidence that Hon. Tegbe will bring innovation-driven leadership, policy stability, and result-oriented reforms capable of repositioning the sector for sustainable national development.

Hon. OJO further emphasized that this appointment reflects the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which continues to prioritize strategic human capital deployment, institutional reforms, and governance efficiency across all critical sectors of the economy. He described the administration’s approach as “a deliberate effort to rebuild trust in governance through competence-based leadership selection.”

In his words, the development also serves as a rallying point for members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across Oyo State and beyond. He called for renewed unity, stronger internal cohesion, and grassroots mobilization, stressing that political strength is built on solidarity, shared vision, and disciplined party structure.

“As we celebrate this milestone, it is important that we remain focused on strengthening our party structures at the grassroots, deepening engagement with the people, and working collectively towards reclaiming and consolidating political leadership in Oyo State,” he stated.

Hon. OJO reaffirmed his commitment to progressive politics, people-centered representation, and legislative advocacy that will advance the interests of constituents across Ibadan North-West and Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency.

He concluded by wishing Hon. Tegbe success in his new national assignment, expressing confidence that his tenure will contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s journey toward stable, affordable, and reliable electricity supply.
