Hon. Oluwatobi John Ogunbayo, an aspirant for the Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency under the All Progressives Congress (APC), has extended his heartfelt condolences to the National Secretary of the APC, Senator Ajibola Basiru, following the death of his mother, Alhaja Sidikat Abake Basiru.
In a condolence message issued on behalf of himself and his supporters, Ogunbayo expressed deep sympathy to Senator Basiru and the entire Basiru family, describing the late Alhaja Sidikat Abake Basiru as a devout Muslim, a compassionate mother, and a woman whose life was defined by integrity, selfless service, and unwavering devotion to her family and faith.
According to Ogunbayo, the passing of a mother represents one of life's greatest emotional losses, noting that while death remains an inevitable reality for every human being, the vacuum created by the loss of a loving mother is often irreplaceable. He observed that mothers play a unique and indispensable role in shaping families, nurturing values, and providing the guidance that influences generations.
The APC chieftain stated that the remarkable virtues and discipline demonstrated by Senator Ajibola Basiru throughout his public and political career stand as a reflection of the sound upbringing and moral foundation laid by his late mother.
He further remarked that Alhaja Sidikat Abake Basiru's enduring legacy would continue to live on through the positive impact she made on her children, relatives, and everyone privileged to have encountered her during her lifetime.
"The passing of a mother is a painful loss that words cannot fully express," Ogunbayo said.
"I pray that Almighty Allah grants Senator Ajibola Basiru and the entire Basiru family the strength, patience, and comfort to bear this difficult moment. May Allah forgive her shortcomings, accept her righteous deeds, grant her eternal rest, and admit her into Aljanah Firdaus."
He also called on members of the All Progressives Congress, political associates, friends, and well-wishers across the country to remember the bereaved family in their prayers during this period of mourning.
Ogunbayo expressed confidence that Allah's infinite mercy, grace, and consolation would sustain the family through their grief, while praying that the cherished memories and exemplary life of the late matriarch would continue to inspire all who knew her.
In Islamic tradition, caring for parents and honoring them both in life and after death are regarded as among the highest acts of worship. Prayers for deceased parents remain an important expression of gratitude and filial devotion, offering comfort to grieving families while reflecting the enduring values of compassion, faith, and service exemplified by the departed.
As sympathies continue to pour in from political leaders, associates, and well-wishers, the passing of Alhaja Sidikat Abake Basiru has been widely acknowledged as the loss of a respected matriarch whose influence extended beyond her immediate family. Her legacy of humility, kindness, and devotion to Allah is expected to remain a lasting source of inspiration for generations to come.
