Hon. Lanre Jinadu: Yilwatda’s Oyo Visit Sends Strong 2027 Signal for BSA

“APC Is Ready to Take the Lead in Oyo State Come 2027” — Lanre Jinadu

The just-concluded visit of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, to Oyo State has sent a strong political signal ahead of the 2027 general elections, according to Hon. Lanre Jinadu, RenewedHope Ambassador.

Jinadu described the visit as an “affirmative statement” that Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli (BSA) is positioned as the APC’s governorship candidate for the 2027 election in Oyo State.

Professor Yilwatda arrived in Oyo State from Abuja on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, accompanied by the APC National Secretary and other prominent national leaders. The visit came as the party intensifies its preparations for the 2027 elections and seeks to consolidate its structure ahead of what is expected to be a competitive contest.

The major highlight was the commissioning of the BSA campaign office at Dandaru, along the Queen Elizabeth Road axis near Mokola, Ibadan, on Thursday, August 20.

For Jinadu and other APC supporters, the commissioning was much more than the unveiling of a campaign facility. The new building, decorated prominently with APC colours and flags, represents what they see as a visible declaration of the party’s readiness to commence serious mobilisation for the 2027 governorship contest.

Jinadu said the development demonstrates that the APC is preparing to take the lead in the governance of Oyo State in 2027, subject to the will of God and the support of the people.

Beyond the campaign office itself, one of the most significant aspects of the National Chairman’s visit was his appeal for reconciliation and unity within the Oyo APC.

Professor Yilwatda reportedly appealed to party members to “bury all the hatchets” and put past disagreements behind them in the interest of the party. He urged members and stakeholders to work together with a common purpose to secure victory for the APC at every level—from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the party’s governorship, National Assembly and House of Assembly candidates.

The appeal for unity is particularly significant as the party seeks to consolidate its internal structures ahead of 2027. Political victory, as the APC leadership appears to recognise, will require not only a strong candidate but also cooperation among party leaders, stakeholders, aspirants, grassroots members and supporters.

The atmosphere during the visit was charged with enthusiasm, with a large crowd welcoming the APC national leadership. Chants of “On your mandate we shall stand, Bola!” reportedly reverberated through the gathering, reflecting the determination of supporters to back President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC ahead of the next general election.

For Jinadu, the crowd and the activities surrounding the visit demonstrate that there is growing enthusiasm among APC supporters for the party’s return to the centre of political competition in Oyo State.

The commissioning of the campaign office, the inauguration of campaign structures and the direct engagement of the national leadership have consequently added momentum to the party’s preparations.

While the 2027 election remains ahead, one message from the Oyo APC camp is already clear: the party intends to enter the contest organised, united and determined to compete for power.

As Hon. Lanre Jinadu puts it, the visit has provided a renewed sense of direction and confidence among party loyalists.

“By the special grace of God and with the overwhelming support of the people, APC is ready to take the lead in Oyo State come 2027.”
