Agboworin is Touching Lives and Building the Future — Oyo First Lady

The First Lady of Oyo State, Mrs. Tamunominini Olufunke Makinde, has commended Hon. Abass Adigun Agboworin for his consistent and impactful contributions to youth and women empowerment across the state. She praised the lawmaker’s dedication to uplifting lives through sustainable skill acquisition programmes, which she described as a powerful tool for poverty alleviation and future development.
Mrs. Makinde made these remarks during a training and empowerment programme held at Agodi GRA, Ibadan, organized by Hon. Agboworin, who represents Ibadan North-East/South-East Federal Constituency. She personally supervised the distribution of empowerment tools to beneficiaries, including vocational equipment for small businesses and mobility aids for persons with disabilities.
The First Lady urged women and young people in the state to take full advantage of such opportunities, emphasizing that skill development is a pathway to self-reliance and economic empowerment. She also called on other political leaders, organizations, and stakeholders to support similar initiatives to strengthen grassroots development and ensure household financial stability.
Hon. Agboworin, while addressing participants, reiterated his commitment to human capital development. He warned beneficiaries against selling the items received, stressing that the long-term goal is self-sufficiency, not short-term gain. Also speaking at the event, the Oyo State Director of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), Mrs. Ogundipe, lauded the initiative and encouraged recipients to maximize the resources for business startups.
The event was well attended by dignitaries, political leaders, and community stakeholders, all of whom applauded Hon. Agboworin’s efforts toward driving inclusive economic growth and development in Oyo State.
