Honouring the Legacy of Big Bolaji: A Tribute to Ibadan's Gospel Icon

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bolaji Olanrewaju, affectionately known as Big Bolaji or Big B. A cherished gospel music minister, radio presenter, and community leader, his departure leaves a significant void in the hearts of many, especially in Ibadan, Oyo State, where he was a beacon of hope and inspiration.

A Life Dedicated to Ministry and Music

Big Bolaji was not only a certified Estate Surveyor but also a full-time music minister who dedicated his life to spreading the gospel through music. Raised under the guidance of Bishop Francis Wale Oke at The Sword of the Spirit Ministries, he was an ordained minister with the Redeemed Christian Church of God, serving faithfully for over 19 years

His radio program, Turn It Up with Big B, which aired every Sunday morning on Splash FM Ibadan, became a staple for many listeners. The show seamlessly blended entertainment with spiritual nourishment, featuring music, interviews, and inspirational messages. It was a platform where gospel music met contemporary culture, resonating deeply with a diverse audience.

A Memorable Concert Experience

One of the highlights of his career was the Turn It Up with Big B concert held at Jogor Center in Ibadan. The event was a testament to his commitment to creating spaces where people could experience the transformative power of gospel music. Attending this concert was a memorable experience, as it showcased his unique ability to blend worship with entertainment, leaving attendees uplifted and inspired.

A Legacy of Love and Service

Beyond his professional achievements, Big Bolaji was a man of deep faith and compassion. He was married to Tolulope, and together they were blessed with two children. Their union was a reflection of his commitment to family and faith. He was also known for his support of young people, often referred to as "Baba Awon Boyz" (King of the Boys), a title that spoke to his mentorship and guidance to many in the community

As we mourn his loss, we also celebrate his life and the indelible mark he left on the gospel music scene in Nigeria. His legacy will continue to inspire and uplift, reminding us of the power of music and ministry to touch lives and bring about positive change.

May his soul rest in peace.
