Legendary Nigerian R&B and hip-hop group, Plantashun Boiz, are officially back in the studio spotlight — and fans of the iconic trio are in for a major treat. In an exclusive chat with Entertainment Jamboree, founding member Faze confirmed that the group’s long-anticipated comeback album is finally complete and nearing public release.
The group, made up of Faze, 2Baba (formerly 2face Idibia), and Blackface, has wrapped up recording a total of 19 tracks, though they plan to release a curated 12-track album. While the album is yet to be titled, excitement is already mounting among fans and within the industry.
> “Everything is ready,” said Faze. “We all put in our energy from start to finish, and I must say this album represents the unity and maturity we've all achieved individually and collectively. We’ve recorded 19 powerful songs, but we're trimming it down to 12 for the final cut.”
According to Faze, the trio will reconvene before the end of the month to finalize the song selection process — a meeting that will likely happen once 2Baba’s schedule clears up.
One of the standout tracks already selected as a promo single is titled “Twitter Girl.” Faze describes it as a massive record with viral potential, even bigger than the group’s classic hit, “Body & Soul.”
> “Mark my words, ‘Twitter Girl’ is going to be a game changer,” Faze stated. “It's fresh, catchy, and has that international crossover vibe. We’re dropping this album soon, and I need everyone to stay ready.”
Plantashun Boiz originally disbanded in the mid-2000s after a string of successful hits and solo careers, but their legacy has remained intact. This reunion project is already being hailed as one of the most anticipated comebacks in Nigerian music history.
Stay tuned for more updates, release dates, and tracklist announcements as Plantashun Boiz prepare to dominate the airwaves once again.
