The Oyo State Government has called on parents, guardians, and the wider community to reaffirm their commitment to protecting the rights of every Nigerian child and supporting their aspirations. This appeal was made during the 2025 Children’s Day celebration held at Adamasingba Stadium, Ibadan.
Governor Seyi Makinde, represented by the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, Hon. Toyin Balogun, emphasized the theme of this year’s event: “Stand Up, Speak Up: Building a Bullying-Free Generation.” The occasion featured a vibrant march-past competition involving various primary and secondary schools, along with other engaging and entertaining activities.
In his address, the Governor highlighted the administration’s dedication to fostering a culture where every child feels safe, respected, and heard—both offline and online. He reaffirmed that violence, bullying, and neglect have no place in today’s Nigeria, and that the state is committed to creating environments where children can thrive and reach their full potential.
