The Federal Government is set to launch a dedicated registration portal for the upcoming National Youth Summit, aiming to facilitate the participation of young Nigerians from across the country. This initiative, announced by the Minister for Youth Development, Mr. Ayodele Olawande, underscores the government's commitment to engaging the youth in national development efforts.
The summit, a 30-day conference, is designed to address critical issues affecting Nigerian youths, including unemployment, education, and healthcare. It seeks to promote national cohesion and unity among youths, develop policies for sustainable youth development, and help young Nigerians rediscover their strengths and talents.
In addition to the National Youth Summit, the government is also preparing to unveil a youth farmers' enrollment portal as part of the Nigerian Youth Economic Engagement and De-Radicalization Programme (NIYEEDEP). This initiative aims to create millions of direct jobs for Nigerian youths across the agricultural value chain, addressing key economic challenges such as high youth unemployment, food insecurity, and household poverty.
These initiatives reflect the government's proactive approach to youth empowerment, providing platforms for meaningful dialogue and tangible opportunities for economic engagement.
