Nigerian Breweries Plc (NB), a subsidiary of HEINEKEN, has announced the appointment of Sarah Agha as its new Marketing Director, effective June 1, 2025. This strategic move is part of the company's ongoing efforts to strengthen its market leadership and align with its EverGreen 2030 growth strategy.
In her new role, Agha will report directly to Managing Director Hans Essaadi and join the Nigerian Breweries Management Team. She is tasked with shaping the company's portfolio and marketing strategy to unlock the next phase of growth. This includes embedding a consumer-led approach to transform and reclaim leadership in the mainstream segment, as well as advancing growth in premium and beyond-beer categories.
Agha brings over 15 years of experience in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) and telecommunications sectors. She joined Heineken in 2018 through the Nigerian operating company, where she delivered strong results across beer and beyond-beer categories with brands such as Heineken, Desperados, and local icons Legend Extra Stout, Star, and Gulder.
Prior to her new appointment, Agha served as the Regional Marketing Excellence Director, leading the marketing agenda for Africa, Middle East, and Eastern Europe (AMEE). In this role, she focused on building winning consumer portfolios and strengthening brand-building strategies to win in markets. She notably enhanced the culture of collaboration with operating companies and championed a shift from solely delivering capability programs to embedding capabilities that elevate the quality of execution.
Agha succeeds Emma Oriakhi, who has been elevated to the position of Sales Director after serving as Marketing Director for seven years. Oriakhi is a seasoned Heineken management leader with over 18 years of experience in sales strategy, communication development, insight generation, innovation, brand experience, and managing territories across Africa and the Middle East. He has achieved notable career milestones by driving volume, profitability, and equity growth for Heineken Nigeria’s portfolio, significantly improving business performance.
Nigerian Breweries has indicated that a successor for the now-vacant role of Regional Marketing Excellence Director has been identified and will be announced shortly.
