Oyo state government has apologized to citizens over the ongoing transitional and upgrade move at the Samuel Akintola International Airport, Alakia, Ibadan which has disrupted air traffic activities.
The apology came today in a progress report of the airport. The Governor, Seyi Makinde, represented by chairman, Samuel Akintola Airport Upgrade Committee and former Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Bimbo Adekanmbi acknowledged the significance of the ongoing project when fully completed including increase in travel networks, job creation and improved internally generated revenues in the state, called neighbouring residents and others to remain hopeful of its runway delivery by the end of the year.
Meanwhile, the former Finance boss called for co-operation, patience and prayers of the citizens for an exception al delivery of the project which in turns will roster the state a more productive in the Southwestern part of the Country.
Recall, Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde announced N41billion naira for the upgrade on September 18th 2024, following its approval by the federal government of Nigeria.
