In a historic ceremony on March 21, 2025, coinciding with Namibia's 35th Independence Day, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah was inaugurated as the nation's first female president . Her ascension marks a significant milestone in Namibia's political landscape and sets a precedent for female leadership across the African continent.
Belema Meshack-Hart, Founder of the Africa Women Summit, extended heartfelt congratulations to President Nandi-Ndaitwah, stating:

Her extensive career includes roles as Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Deputy Prime Minister, and Vice President. In the November 2024 elections, she secured 58.7% of the vote, leading to her historic inauguration.
In her inaugural address, President Nandi-Ndaitwah emphasized her commitment to good governance, economic diversification, and addressing youth unemployment. She pledged to create 500,000 jobs over the next five years, focusing on sectors such as agriculture, fishing, and the creative industries.
