I celebrate Chief Nelson Adedayo Adeniyi on the occasion of his 90th birthday, a remarkable milestone that reflects a life of grace, wisdom, and enduring impact.
Reaching this age is a rare blessing. As the Yoruba would say, “Àgbà tí ó pé l’áyé, àná ni fún ọmọ” (an elder who lives long is a guiding light for the younger generation). Baba’s life is a shining example of honour, integrity, and selfless service to the community.
Chief Adeniyi stands as a respected elder whose years have been filled with meaningful contributions to peace, unity, and development. His wisdom, counsel, and fatherly role continue to inspire and shape lives.
Today, we celebrate not just the years, but the legacy. “Kí ọdún yín pé, kí ọjọ́ yín gùn, kí ayọ̀ àti àlàáfíà máa bá yín lọ” (may your years be long, your days be filled with joy, and may peace never depart from you.)
On this special occasion, I join family, friends, and well-wishers in honouring a true patriarch, a man of dignity and great value to our society.
I pray that God grants Baba continued good health, strength, and many more years to witness the fruits of his labour.
