“Tinubu & Yayi 2027 Train Storms Ogun?” — IPM Expands Political Structure as Massive Grassroots Mobilisation Begins Across State

The political movement toward the 2027 general elections gathered fresh momentum in Ogun State as the South-West Coordinator of the Igede Progressive Movement (IPM), Comrade Simon Ochete, officially inaugurated the Ogun State Chapter of the movement in a strategic effort to deepen grassroots mobilisation and strengthen support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Olamilekan Adeola Yayi ahead of the 2027 elections.

The inauguration ceremony, which attracted party loyalists, grassroots mobilisers, community leaders, youths, and supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC), marked another significant expansion of the movement’s growing political structure across the South-West region.

The event also featured the official unveiling and appointment of Comrade Jonah Ogbu as the Ogun State Coordinator of the Igede Progressive Movement, a move described by stakeholders as a strategic step toward building a stronger and more coordinated grassroots political network in Ogun State.

Speaking during the inauguration, Comrade Simon Ochete reiterated the movement’s unwavering commitment to supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration and ensuring massive voter mobilisation across Ogun State and the South-West at large.

According to him, the mission of the movement is clear and focused:

“To create strong grassroots awareness, mobilise millions of voters, and ensure massive support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator Olamilekan Yayi, and all APC candidates in Ogun State ahead of the 2027 elections.”

He emphasized that the Igede Progressive Movement is steadily growing into a formidable grassroots political structure with strong influence among farming communities, artisans, traders, youths, and rural settlers across the South-West.

Strengthening Grassroots Politics in Ogun State

The inauguration of the Ogun State Chapter is being viewed by political observers as part of broader grassroots strategies currently reshaping political mobilisation ahead of 2027.

The Igede community, known for its significant presence in agricultural settlements and rural communities across Ogun State and other South-West states, has increasingly become an important voting bloc due to its population spread, coordinated structure, and active participation during elections.

Comrade Ochete noted that the movement intends to ensure that these communities are fully integrated into the political process while supporting progressive leadership and inclusive governance.

He further stressed that the movement strongly believes in the leadership direction of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing him as a visionary leader whose political experience and national influence continue to inspire millions across Nigeria.

Massive Support for Senator Olamilekan Yayi

The movement also used the occasion to openly reaffirm its total support for Senator Olamilekan Adeola Yayi’s 2027 governorship ambition in Ogun State.

Members of the movement described Senator Yayi as a grassroots politician with strong connections to ordinary people and a proven record of empowerment, representation, and community development.

According to the movement, Senator Yayi’s political style aligns with the aspirations of many rural and grassroots communities who desire responsive leadership, economic growth, and people-oriented governance.

Supporters at the event repeatedly echoed solidarity chants in support of both President Tinubu and Senator Yayi, signaling what many described as an early political alignment gradually gaining momentum across Ogun State.

Official Appointment of Ogun State Coordinator

A major highlight of the event was the official inauguration of Comrade Jonah Ogbu as the Ogun State Coordinator of the Igede Progressive Movement.

His appointment was welcomed with excitement by members who expressed confidence in his ability to strengthen the movement’s structure, coordinate mobilisation efforts, and expand grassroots participation across the state.

Speaking shortly after his inauguration, Comrade Jonah Ogbu pledged his commitment to the ideals of the movement and promised to work tirelessly toward building a formidable support base for APC candidates ahead of the next general elections.

He stated:

“We are stepping into another level of political mobilisation. Ogun State will witness unprecedented grassroots participation and support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator Olamilekan Yayi, and all APC candidates.”

A Growing Political Force Ahead of 2027

The inauguration of the Ogun State Chapter further confirms the growing expansion of the Igede Progressive Movement across the South-West region.

From Oyo to Ogun, Lagos to Osun, the movement has continued to establish structures aimed at mobilising voters, promoting political participation, and strengthening grassroots support for the APC.

Political analysts believe such coordinated mobilisation efforts could significantly influence voter turnout and political engagement in rural and semi-urban communities during the 2027 elections.

Looking Ahead

As preparations intensify ahead of 2027, the Igede Progressive Movement says it remains committed to building stronger political awareness, unity, and support structures across the South-West.

The movement insists that its objective remains unwavering:

To deliver massive grassroots support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator Olamilekan Yayi, and all candidates of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun State and beyond.

With expanding structures, increasing mobilisation, and growing grassroots influence, the movement believes the journey toward 2027 has already begun—and Ogun State is set to play a major role in that political equation.
