Trump Reveals Secret U.S. Mission in Strait of Hormuz, Claims Operation Helped Move Over 100 Million Barrels of Oil

U.S. President Donald Trump has disclosed new details about what he described as a covert American military operation aimed at safeguarding global energy supplies and commercial shipping through the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz.

Speaking after earlier remarks made in the Oval Office, Trump revealed that the United States had carried out a “secret mission” over the past month to support oil tankers and other commercial vessels navigating the narrow waterway, one of the world’s most important routes for crude oil transportation. According to the president, the operation enabled more than 100 million barrels of oil to reach international markets while ensuring the safe passage of hundreds of commercial ships.

The Strait of Hormuz, located between Iran and Oman, serves as a critical gateway for global energy exports. A significant portion of the world’s oil supply passes through the channel, making it a focal point of geopolitical tensions whenever security concerns arise in the Middle East. Any disruption to shipping activities in the strait has the potential to impact global energy markets and fuel prices.

Trump claimed that the U.S. military operation was conducted largely out of public view and involved assisting commercial vessels during nighttime transits through the waterway. He asserted that American forces had successfully degraded Iranian radar capabilities through previous military strikes, allowing tankers and cargo ships to move through the area without detection. The president stated that millions of barrels of oil were transported during these operations and suggested that Iranian authorities were unaware of the scale of the movement.

Providing further details, Trump said the mission helped more than 200 commercial ships safely traverse the Strait of Hormuz. He argued that the operation played a significant role in stabilizing global oil supplies at a time of heightened tensions in the region and contributed to preventing a sharp surge in energy prices.

The announcement comes amid an ongoing confrontation involving the United States and Iran, with recent military exchanges and diplomatic efforts unfolding simultaneously. While the Trump administration has continued to pursue negotiations aimed at reducing tensions, Washington has also maintained a strong military posture in the region. Reports indicate that U.S. strikes targeted Iranian military and surveillance infrastructure in response to security threats affecting maritime traffic and American interests.

Energy analysts have closely monitored developments in the Strait of Hormuz because of its importance to international trade. Industry reports suggest that commercial shipping in the region has increasingly relied on unconventional routes and heightened security measures to avoid disruptions. Some vessels have reportedly altered navigation patterns or undertaken nighttime transits due to concerns over potential attacks and surveillance.

Trump maintained that the covert operation was a major success for U.S. strategic interests and global energy security. According to his account, the mission ensured that oil continued to flow into world markets despite ongoing regional instability and threats to maritime commerce. The president also reiterated his administration’s commitment to protecting international shipping lanes while continuing diplomatic efforts aimed at reaching a broader agreement with Iran.

The revelation has drawn international attention as governments, energy markets, and shipping companies assess the implications of the operation and its impact on one of the world’s most critical maritime chokepoints. As tensions remain elevated in the Middle East, the Strait of Hormuz is expected to remain at the center of global economic and security discussions in the weeks ahead. :::
