Hon. Oluwafemi Abolade Gabriel, popularly known as Yerima, the Leader of the Ona Ara Local Government Councillors, has expressed profound appreciation to family members, political associates, colleagues, community stakeholders, church members and friends who joined him in celebrating his 50th birthday.
The milestone birthday provided an opportunity for the respected political figure to reflect on the people who have stood by him throughout his journey while also celebrating the relationships, goodwill and support that continue to define his public engagement.
Yerima, while appreciating everyone who attended the celebration, specifically acknowledged those who took time out of their busy schedules to celebrate the significant milestone with him.
He expressed gratitude to the Executive Chairman of Ona Ara Local Government, Hon. Temitope Kolapo (Glorious), for his presence and support, describing his participation as a demonstration of the spirit of togetherness required to move the local government forward.
He also appreciated Amb. Olasunkanmi Oluseun (Able), Chairman of the National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPPS), Ona Ara Local Government Chapter, for identifying with him on the occasion.
The birthday celebration also brought together members of the Ona Ara legislative council, with Yerima extending special appreciation to his colleagues, including Hon. Akeem Olalere, Hon. James Emmanuel, Hon. Tajudeen Olawale Maruff, Hon. Ayoade Folahan Idris (Chief Whip), Hon. Dauda Taiwo (Deputy Leader), Hon. Oluwatoba Samson and Hon. Muritala Tijani.
Their presence, according to Yerima, reinforced the importance of unity, mutual respect and collective responsibility among elected representatives serving the people of Ona Ara.
Beyond the political circle, Yerima also acknowledged members of his family, describing their love, sacrifices and unwavering support as invaluable parts of his journey.
He equally appreciated members of the APM Party at the ward level, as well as members of his church community and other friends and well-wishers who celebrated with him and sent messages, prayers and goodwill.
For Yerima, turning 50 is more than a celebration of age. It represents a moment of gratitude for the past, reflection on the present and renewed commitment to the future.
As a prominent member of the Ona Ara political landscape and the leader of the local government councillors, his growing visibility has continued to attract attention among political stakeholders and residents interested in the next generation of representation in the area.
His supporters increasingly see him as a politician with further political aspirations, with conversations around his potential future bid for state-level representation already generating interest within political circles. Any such aspiration, however, remains a matter for the appropriate political process and eventual declaration.
The birthday celebration therefore offered more than a social gathering. It provided another opportunity for Yerima to connect with the people around him and demonstrate appreciation for the network of relationships that has accompanied his public service journey.
In his appreciation message, Yerima thanked everyone who attended physically, reached out through messages and phone calls, offered prayers or otherwise contributed to making his 50th birthday memorable.
He emphasised that the love and goodwill shown to him would not be taken for granted.
The celebration ended on a note of gratitude, with family, political associates, councillors, party members, church members and friends joining him to mark the landmark occasion.
At 50, Hon. Oluwafemi Abolade Gabriel (Yerima) appears to be entering a new chapter—one in which his experience in local government leadership, relationships across different constituencies and growing political visibility could become increasingly significant in Ona Ara's evolving political conversation.
For now, his message is simple: thank you for standing with me, thank you for praying for me, and thank you for celebrating this milestone with me.
