Apostle Joshua Selman has reportedly made a striking statement about the fate of an unnamed high-ranking politician in Nigeria, saying he saw the individual “going” and people gathering to bury the person.
In the statement circulating online, Selman said:
> “I’m seeing a high-ranking politician in this nation. His time is up. I’m seeing him going. I’m seeing people gather to bury the person.”
Reports published on September 28, 2026, say the preacher presented the statement as a spiritual revelation rather than a political comment. He reportedly explained that he initially struggled with whether to make the revelation public but eventually felt compelled to speak about it.
Importantly, Selman did not identify the politician by name, disclose the person’s political office, or provide a specific timeframe for the alleged event. Therefore, the statement does not establish the identity of any particular Nigerian politician or provide factual evidence that a specific individual is facing imminent death. It remains a prophetic claim attributed to the preacher.
According to reports, Selman also stressed that his intention was not to celebrate anyone's death. Rather, he said the announcement was intended to prepare and comfort the family of the person involved.
> “The reason why we announce this is not because we rejoice over whatever it is that is happening. It’s so that God will comfort the family, one, and then prepare the heart.”
He reportedly went further, saying: “But there’s nothing that can be done. It’s time. It’s over.” He also insisted that he was not making the statement to impress anyone, saying, “I don’t prophesy to impress.”
The statement has naturally generated conversations because of the status of the unnamed person described as a “high-ranking politician.” In a country where political office holders occupy highly visible positions and where religious interpretations of national events attract considerable public attention, such a declaration can quickly become a subject of speculation.
However, caution is necessary. There is currently no basis in the reported statement to attach Selman’s words to any particular politician. Naming individuals without evidence would turn an unspecified prophetic statement into an unverified allegation.
