Hon. Oluwatobi John Ogunbayo (OJO), a political leader and public affairs advocate from the Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency, has felicitated with His Imperial Majesty, Oba Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, Arusa I, the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, on the occasion of his 82nd birthday and the first anniversary of his ascension to the revered throne of Ibadanland.
In a goodwill message issued to commemorate the historic double celebration, OJO described the Olubadan as a distinguished statesman, administrator and traditional leader whose decades of public service have contributed significantly to the political, social and developmental history of Oyo State.
According to Ogunbayo, attaining the age of 82 while simultaneously marking the first anniversary of his reign as Olubadan is a significant milestone worthy of gratitude, reflection and celebration.
He noted that Oba Ladoja's remarkable journey from public service as a former Governor of Oyo State and Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the highest traditional stool in Ibadanland reflects a lifetime dedicated to leadership, service and the advancement of the people.

OJO further described the Olubadan institution as one of the most respected traditional institutions in Yorubaland and an important custodian of Ibadan's history, identity, customs and cultural heritage.
He stressed that traditional institutions have an important role to play in promoting peace, unity, social cohesion, cultural preservation and community development, particularly at a time when cities such as Ibadan continue to experience rapid demographic and economic transformation.
According to him, Ibadan's enormous human capital, commercial strength, cultural heritage and strategic position require collective leadership and collaboration among traditional rulers, government, political actors, business leaders, professionals, youths and community stakeholders.

He emphasised that the preservation of Ibadan's traditional values must go hand in hand with efforts to promote investment, youth empowerment, employment, security, infrastructure and sustainable economic development.
OJO said the occasion should also serve as an opportunity for younger generations of Ibadan leaders to learn from the experiences of statesmen who have contributed to the city's political and institutional development.
