JAGUN JAGUN 2: PASUMA, KWAM 1, FUNKE AKINDELE, MUKA RAY Join Femi Adebayo for Another Epic Yoruba Blockbuster

The excitement surrounding Nollywood’s highly anticipated epic movie Jagun Jagun 2: War of Warriors is growing rapidly, following the unveiling of some of the major stars expected to feature in the sequel.

The project has already attracted enormous attention because of the success of the original Jagun Jagun, which premiered in 2023 and became one of the notable modern Yoruba-language epic productions to reach a global audience through Netflix.

Now, Femi Adebayo is leading the charge once again, and this time, the production appears to be bringing an even bigger collection of entertainment heavyweights together.

Among the names generating excitement are Fuji music icon Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (KWAM 1), popular Fuji star Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, Nollywood powerhouse Funke Akindele, veteran actor Muka Ray, alongside Femi Adebayo and other familiar faces from the Yoruba entertainment industry. Recent reports confirm that Femi Adebayo has unveiled Funke Akindele, KWAM 1, Pasuma and other stars for the sequel.

The combination alone is enough to make many fans ask one question: What exactly is Femi Adebayo preparing this time?

Femi Adebayo Leads Again

Femi Adebayo’s involvement remains one of the biggest attractions of the project. He produced the original Jagun Jagun, while Tope Adebayo Salami and Adebayo Tijani directed it. The 2023 film followed Gbotija, a young man determined to become a powerful warrior, whose journey into the army of the feared warlord Ogundiji exposed him to warfare, loyalty, ambition, revenge and political power struggles.

The first instalment also established itself as an award-winning production. Jagun Jagun won Best Indigenous Language Movie (West Africa) and Best Costume Design at the 2024 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards. Femi Adebayo also won the Best Actor in a Supporting Role category at the 20th Africa Movie Academy Awards for his performance in the film.

That pedigree has naturally raised expectations for the sequel.

A Powerful Combination of Music and Cinema

The inclusion of KWAM 1 and Pasuma adds another dimension to the project. Both musicians are major figures in Nigerian popular culture, particularly within the Fuji music tradition, while Funke Akindele brings enormous experience and commercial appeal from both Yoruba and mainstream Nollywood productions.

Veteran actor Muka Ray also adds another layer of Yoruba cinematic heritage to what is shaping up to be a star-studded production.

However, while the cast announcement has generated considerable excitement, the complete storyline and every member of the sequel’s cast have not yet been officially disclosed.

December 4 Is the Date

The biggest official update is that Jagun Jagun 2: War of Warriors is scheduled to premiere exclusively on Netflix on December 4, 2026. Femi Adebayo announced the release through his official social media platform, describing the sequel as War of Warriors.

For fans of Yoruba-language cinema, the sequel represents more than just another movie. It is another opportunity to showcase Yoruba history, language, traditional aesthetics, costumes, mythology, warfare and royal intrigue to audiences around the world.

With Femi Adebayo leading again, and names such as Pasuma, KWAM 1, Funke Akindele and Muka Ray joining the production, Jagun Jagun 2 is already positioning itself as one of the most anticipated Nigerian film releases of 2026.

December 4 cannot come soon enough.
