Oba Ladoja’s Surprise Visit to Governor Makinde’s Residence Sparks Reactions After Eid Prayers

Eid Surprise: Oba Ladoja's Unannounced Visit to Governor Makinde's Residence Stirs Mixed Reactions

In a move that has captured the attention of Oyo State residents, Oba Rasidi Ladoja, the Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, made an unannounced visit to the Ikolaba private residence of Governor Seyi Makinde on Sunday, following the Eid-el-Fitri prayers at the Agodi Eid Prayer Ground.

Accompanied by Senator Sharafadeen Alli, who represents Oyo South, and other aides, Oba Ladoja's arrival was met with a spectrum of reactions from onlookers, ranging from admiration to surprise. Dressed in white attire and bearing the Olubadan staff of office, the monarch was received by key figures including Otunba Gboyega Badejo, the Director-General of Protocol to the Governor, and Alhaji Akeem Azeez, the Governor's Personal Assistant.

A brief moment of tension arose when security personnel, unaware of Oba Ladoja's impending arrival, delayed opening the entrance door. This caused a short pause until the situation was resolved, allowing the former governor and his entourage to enter and join the Deputy Governor and other dignitaries already present.

This visit underscores the evolving dynamics within Oyo State's political and traditional leadership, highlighting moments of unity and the blending of political and cultural affiliations.
