In a fresh twist to the ongoing drama in Nigeria’s entertainment scene, controversial street-hop sensation Habeeb Okikilola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has been arrested by operatives of the Kwara State Police Command over a string of serious allegations leveled against him by iconic Fuji music legend Saheed Osupa.
The arrest, which has since sparked widespread media attention, stems from a formal petition filed by Osupa — real name Okunola Saheed — accusing Portable of criminal defamation, threats to life, incitement, character assassination, and conduct likely to incite public unrest.
According to a press statement released by the command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, Portable’s actions allegedly included the use of vulgar, offensive, and derogatory language directed at the respected Fuji star in videos circulated widely across social media platforms.
"The suspect is being investigated following a petition by one Saheed Okunola, also known as Saheed Osupa, alleging various offences, including defamation, incitement, and threat to life. The command is handling the matter in line with the law," Ejire-Adeyemi confirmed.
Sources reveal that the altercation escalated when Portable reportedly released a series of inflammatory videos, targeting Osupa with damaging claims and insults. The Police Command emphasized that such actions, especially when shared publicly, could undermine peace and provoke unnecessary tension within the entertainment community and beyond.
This incident adds to Portable’s growing list of legal controversies, as the self-acclaimed “Ika of Africa” continues to dominate headlines for both his music and his volatile public persona.
