Atiku and Sambo Visit Aregbesola in Ilesa Ahead of Owa Obokun Coronation

In a significant political and cultural convergence, former Vice Presidents Atiku Abubakar and Namadi Sambo visited former Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola at his residence in Ilesa, Osun State, on Friday, May 23, 2025. The visit precedes the coronation ceremony of the new Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, scheduled for the same day.

Oba Haastrup, a former Deputy Governor of Osun State and esteemed business magnate, was selected as the 49th Owa Obokun following the passing of Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran II in September 2024. The coronation festivities, spanning ten days, commenced on May 16, 2025, and culminate with the official installation ceremony today.
