Faith Bwalya, a 24-year-old medical licentiate from Kitwe, earned her national title on April 20 in Lusaka. Beyond her medical profession, she is the founder of The Voice of Faith Foundation, an initiative dedicated to uplifting marginalized communities through education and advocacy. Her commitment to social causes exemplifies the Miss World ethos of "Beauty with a Purpose."
Cultural Elegance on Display
At the pageant, Bwalya captivated audiences with a national costume designed by Ivhu Tribe, titled “Daughter of the Land: The Spirit of Zambia.” The ensemble featured symbolic elements such as cowry shells representing divine femininity, golden wings inspired by the Zambian flag's eagle, and miniature elephant sculptures symbolizing strength and leadership. This attire not only showcased Zambia's rich cultural heritage but also highlighted the nation's artistic craftsmanship.
Engaging in Global Cultural Exchange
The Miss World 2025 pageant, held from May 7 to 31 in Hyderabad, brings together contestants from 140 countries. Participants, including Bwalya, are engaging in a series of events designed to promote cultural exchange and showcase Telangana's heritage. Activities include visits to UNESCO World Heritage sites, traditional dance performances, and interactions with local communities.
