Faith Bwalya Shines at Miss World 2025 in India, Marking Zambia’s Triumphant Return

Zambia is abuzz with pride as Faith Bwalya, crowned Miss World Zambia 2025, represents the nation at the 72nd Miss World pageant in Telangana, India. Her participation signifies Zambia's return to the global stage after a seven-year hiatus from the competition.

A Beacon of Beauty and Advocacy

Faith Bwalya, a 24-year-old medical licentiate from Kitwe, earned her national title on April 20 in Lusaka. Beyond her medical profession, she is the founder of The Voice of Faith Foundation, an initiative dedicated to uplifting marginalized communities through education and advocacy. Her commitment to social causes exemplifies the Miss World ethos of "Beauty with a Purpose."

Cultural Elegance on Display

At the pageant, Bwalya captivated audiences with a national costume designed by Ivhu Tribe, titled “Daughter of the Land: The Spirit of Zambia.” The ensemble featured symbolic elements such as cowry shells representing divine femininity, golden wings inspired by the Zambian flag's eagle, and miniature elephant sculptures symbolizing strength and leadership. This attire not only showcased Zambia's rich cultural heritage but also highlighted the nation's artistic craftsmanship.

Engaging in Global Cultural Exchange

The Miss World 2025 pageant, held from May 7 to 31 in Hyderabad, brings together contestants from 140 countries. Participants, including Bwalya, are engaging in a series of events designed to promote cultural exchange and showcase Telangana's heritage. Activities include visits to UNESCO World Heritage sites, traditional dance performances, and interactions with local communities.

Bwalya's involvement in these events not only elevates Zambia's profile on the international stage but also fosters cross-cultural understanding and appreciation.

Anticipation Builds for the Grand Finale

As the pageant progresses, anticipation builds for the grand finale scheduled for May 31 at HITEX Exhibition Centre in Hyderabad. Zambians and supporters worldwide eagerly await the outcome, proud of Bwalya's representation and the positive spotlight it casts on the nation.
