The announcement was made in a letter signed by the Chief of Staff, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi, and confirmed in a press release issued by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Sulaimon Olanrewaju, on May 5, 2025.
As part of the reshuffle, Barr. Seun Ashamu, Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, has been redeployed to the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources. Hon. Abdulmojeed Mogbonjubola, the former Environment Commissioner, will now oversee the Ministry of Public Works, Infrastructure and Transport, while Prof. Dahud Shangodoyin moves from Public Works to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.
In a similar development, Prof. Solihu Adelabu, Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, has been reassigned to the Ministry of Establishments and Training. Hon. Segun Olayiwola, formerly of the Ministry of Establishments, will now take charge of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.
The changes take immediate effect. Governor Makinde urged the affected commissioners to continue discharging their duties with loyalty and commitment to the state.
