Namibia's Selma Kamanya has achieved a significant milestone at the 72nd Miss World pageant in Hyderabad, India, by winning the Africa Continental Queen of Beauty title in the Top Model challenge. This victory secures her a spot among the Top 40 quarterfinalists. Kamanya's performance also earned her a place in the Top 8 of the Head-to-Head Challenge, highlighting her strong communication skills and advocacy.
A former Miss Namibia 2018, Kamanya was appointed Miss World Namibia 2025 by the Miss NGO Namibia organization. She is an economist, real estate professional, and founder of the Innonation Foundation, focusing on sustainable agriculture and mental health awareness.
Her national costume, 'Omaano Akalunga' ('Gift of God'), designed by Naemi Paulus, draws inspiration from the Namibian sun and incorporates Himba and Oshiwambo cultural elements, symbolizing hope and transformation.
Kamanya joins Zambia's Faith Bwalya, who advanced to the quarterfinals through the Head-to-Head Challenge, marking a strong representation for Southern Africa at Miss World 2025.
