Delta State Activist Marcus Samuel Dafe and Brother Fatally Shot Amid Anti-Kidnapping Efforts

In a tragic turn of events, Delta State activist Marcus Samuel Dafe and his brother were fatally shot in Abraka, Ethiope East Local Government Area, shortly after participating in a protest against the region's escalating kidnapping crisis. The incident occurred amidst intensified security operations targeting kidnapping syndicates in the area.

Dafe, known for his vocal stance against abductions disrupting local communities and agriculture, had recently collaborated with local lawmakers and law enforcement to address the kidnapping epidemic that has plagued Ethiope East and Ukwuani LGAs. Their efforts included engaging traditional leaders to bolster community support for anti-kidnapping initiatives.

The fatal shooting transpired days after Delta State Police neutralized a suspected kidnapper during a rescue operation in Abraka, highlighting the volatile security situation in the region.
