In a shocking incident from Punjab's Tarn Taran district, Simran Kaur, a mother of two, allegedly murdered her husband, Rajpreet Singh, to elope with her lover, Lovepreet Singh. The couple had been married for 12 years and had two children together.
According to reports, on the night of July 17, 2019, Simran poisoned her husband's food and, fearing the poison might not be effective, strangled him with a rope to ensure his death. After the murder, she dropped her children at her father-in-law's house before fleeing with her lover.
The crime came to light when the children informed their grandfather about the incident. Rajpreet was found with a rope around his neck and foam at his mouth, indicating poisoning. He was rushed to Guru Nanak Dev Hospital in Amritsar but was declared dead on arrival.
The children have demanded the harshest punishment for their mother, expressing that she should be hanged for her actions. A case has been registered against Simran Kaur and Lovepreet Singh, and efforts are underway to apprehend them.
