Akinyele Council Boss, Hon. Akinwole Akinleye Embark on Youth Empowerment, Urge Beneficiaries to utilize opportunity effectively


In a commendable move to tackle youth unemployment and promote self-reliance, the Executive Chairman of Akinyele Local Government, Hon. Akinwole Akinleye, has empowered the youths of Akinyele LG  through a skills acquisition program focused on mosquito killer production. The event, which was held at the Local Government Council Conference Hall, brought together young people from various communities eager to learn and contribute meaningfully to their society.

The Executive Chairman, who was ably represented by the Chief of Staff, Hon. Adeyemi Aderinwale, urged the beneficiaries to see the initiative as a golden opportunity to become self-sufficient and productive. He emphasized the growing need for locally produced solutions to health challenges such as malaria, while also encouraging the participants to turn their newly acquired skills into viable business ventures.

The empowerment program provided not only technical training but also essential production materials to enable immediate start-up. Participants expressed gratitude to the local government for the hands-on approach and the practical nature of the training. Many noted that such initiatives help reduce dependency and can have a lasting impact on youth development.

The event was well-attended by top council officials, including the Local Government Legislative arm led by the Leader of the House, Hon. Rafiu Kolawole KK, Supervisory Councilor on ICT, Hon. Iyanuoluwa Omogbeminiyi, Supervisory Councilor for Health, Hon. (Mrs.) Fadahunsi, the Director of Administrative and General Services, Alhaji Musibau, among others. Their presence underscored the local government’s commitment to youth empowerment and community health.

This laudable initiative by Hon. Akinwole Akinleye's administration marks another step toward addressing joblessness and creating a more self-reliant youth population in Akinyele. The Executive Chairman reiterated his administration’s readiness to support more empowerment programs, ensuring that no willing youth is left behind in the drive for economic independence and local development.
