In a commendable move to tackle youth unemployment and promote self-reliance, the Executive Chairman of Akinyele Local Government, Hon. Akinwole Akinleye, has empowered the youths of Akinyele LG through a skills acquisition program focused on mosquito killer production. The event, which was held at the Local Government Council Conference Hall, brought together young people from various communities eager to learn and contribute meaningfully to their society.
The Executive Chairman, who was ably represented by the Chief of Staff, Hon. Adeyemi Aderinwale, urged the beneficiaries to see the initiative as a golden opportunity to become self-sufficient and productive. He emphasized the growing need for locally produced solutions to health challenges such as malaria, while also encouraging the participants to turn their newly acquired skills into viable business ventures.
The empowerment program provided not only technical training but also essential production materials to enable immediate start-up. Iyanuoluwa Omogbeminiyi, Supervisory Councilor for Health, Hon. (Mrs.) Fadahunsi, the Director of Administrative and General Services, Alhaji Musibau, among others. Their presence underscored the local government’s commitment to youth empowerment and community health.
