Youth development advocate and Chairman of the Naija5Fest Planning Committee, Oluwatobi Ogunbayo, today joined the leadership team of Naija5Fest for a strategic engagement with the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Grassroots Sports Development in Abuja.
Amb. Ogunbayo, who continues to demonstrate strong commitment to youth empowerment and community development through sports initiatives, was part of the delegation led by the Convener of Naija5Fest, Patrick OSEK, alongside the Director of Strategy, Emmanuel Udomoh.
The delegation was warmly received by Anthony Adeboye Adeyinka, during a productive meeting focused on strengthening grassroots sports development and expanding opportunities for young Nigerians across the country.
Speaking after the engagement, Amb. Ogunbayo described the meeting as a significant step toward building stronger institutional support for grassroots sports initiatives in Nigeria.
As Chairman of the Naija5Fest Planning Committee, Ogunbayo emphasized the importance of leveraging sports as a powerful tool for youth empowerment, talent discovery, and community engagement across Nigeria’s 36 states. He noted that initiatives like Naija5Fest are critical to unlocking the vast sporting potential of young Nigerians while creating positive pathways for national development.
Naija5Fest, according to the organisers, is more than just a football tournament. The initiative represents a growing national movement aimed at identifying and nurturing young talents, promoting unity through sports, and creating sustainable opportunities for the next generation of Nigerian athletes.
Through competitions, community engagement, and talent discovery programs, Naija5Fest seeks to build a platform where young people from different parts of Nigeria can showcase their abilities while gaining exposure to professional opportunities within the sports industry.
Amb. Ogunbayo expressed optimism about the possibilities that lie ahead following the engagement with the Office of the SSA to the President on Grassroots Sports Development. He also conveyed his appreciation for the warm reception and the encouraging support shown toward the Naija5Fest vision.
He reiterated that collaborative partnerships between government institutions and private initiatives remain essential in building sustainable structures for grassroots sports and youth development nationwide.
