Night of Fear in Kogi: Bandits Invade Yagba West Community Days After Security Warning
Fresh fear has gripped residents of Kogi State following another reported bandit attack in Yagba West Local Government Area, as armed men allegedly abducted two individuals during a late-night invasion of Odo-Eri community on Tuesday, May 20, 2026.
According to local sources, the attackers stormed the community around 9pm and reportedly kidnapped a Fulani man identified simply as Bube alongside one of his cattle rearers. The incident has heightened tension across nearby towns and villages already living under growing fears of insecurity and armed criminal activities spreading through the region.
The latest attack reportedly occurred less than 48 hours after residents and local vigilante networks circulated a security alert warning that suspected armed bandits were allegedly moving from the Babanla Forest axis in neighboring Kwara State into parts of Yagba West through the Okoloke bush pathway.
