Hijrah 1448AH: Aare Asejere Calls for Peace, Unity, Commends Appeal Court Judgment

The Accord Party's standard bearer for Osun Central Senatorial District, Aare Ganiyu Ayobami Olaoluwa, popularly known as Asejere, has felicitated with Muslims across Osun Central Senatorial District on the celebration of Hijrah 1448AH, urging them to uphold the values of peace, unity and tolerance as they begin a new Islamic year.

In a statement issued by his media team, Aare Asejere thanked Almighty Allah for preserving the lives of Muslim faithful to witness another Islamic New Year, describing the occasion as a period for spiritual renewal, reflection and rededication to the teachings of Islam.

He urged Muslims to emulate the virtues of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), particularly love, patience, perseverance and peaceful coexistence, stressing that the development of society depends on unity and mutual understanding among citizens.

According to him, "I congratulate the League of Imams and Alfas, as well as the entire Muslim Ummah in Osun Central Senatorial District, on the commencement of Hijrah 1448AH. I pray that Almighty Allah grants us the grace to witness many more celebrations in peace, good health and prosperity."

Asejere also commended Islamic scholars and religious leaders for their contributions to promoting harmony and moral values in society, urging them to sustain prayers for Nigeria, especially for an end to insecurity and the current economic hardship facing the country.

He further appealed to clerics to pray for peaceful conduct before, during and after the August 15 governorship election in Osun State, expressing optimism that the state would continue to enjoy peace throughout the electoral process.

Asejere prayed that the new Hijrah year would usher in divine blessings, progress and prosperity for families, businesses and communities across Osun Central Senatorial District and Osun State.

Meanwhile, Aare Asejere has commended the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja for setting aside the judgment earlier delivered by Justice Peter Lifu of the Federal High Court, Abuja.

He described the appellate court's verdict as a reaffirmation of the judiciary's commitment to justice, fairness and the rule of law, saying the decision demonstrated the independence of the nation's judicial system.

According to him, the judgment would further strengthen Nigeria's democratic institutions by safeguarding the constitutional rights of political parties and their members, while boosting public confidence in the administration of justice.

Asejere expressed confidence that the ruling would contribute to the deepening of democratic governance and the protection of democratic principles in the country.
