"My dear brothers and sisters in Islam, esteemed residents of Ibadan North-West and Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency, and the entire Muslim Ummah,
I heartily congratulate you as we welcome the Islamic New Year, Hijrah 1448AH.
This sacred season reminds us of one of the most significant events in Islamic history—the migration (Hijrah) of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) from Makkah to Madinah. Beyond its historical significance, Hijrah teaches us invaluable lessons of faith, resilience, sacrifice, discipline, hope, leadership, and trust in Almighty Allah.
As we begin this new Islamic year, I encourage all faithful to reflect deeply on these lessons and recommit ourselves to the values that foster peace, unity, justice, compassion, and progress in our communities.
Today, our society requires greater understanding, mutual respect, and collective responsibility.
